Day 59 - ‘Twas The Day Before Christmas
It was a super chilled start to the morning and I was able to catch up with Dad and Jane, Alice and Tom on WhatsApp. I was then pleased to be able to help with ‘Elf duties’ - I.e. some Christmas wrapping and helping in the kitchen. I personally think that Sarah and I made the hampers look pretty good!
Sarah and I then headed out for some lunch and to pick up a couple of bits from the shop. We were worried that it was going to be incredibly busy, but it wasn’t actually too bad. I did also get to enjoy the Christmas koala in the supermarket.

It was then time to take Kuma on a short walk and to help with some preparations for this evening. I took charge of the Hello Fresh prawn starter and am pleased to say that there are no reports of any food poisoning yet. Neil did most of the cooking, and we had a wonderful meal to celebrate both Sarah’s birthday and Christmas Eve. Curt was working late, so it was Neil, Sarah, Chloe, Brandon and me for dinner. There was SO much yummy food - ham, salmon, roast potatoes, pumpkin gratin, beans and carrots. We did our best to make a dent on the huge quantities of food, but it just wouldn’t be Christmas without the prospect of some left-overs.

For dessert we had a delicious trifle. The trifle was the size of a small planet, but I would have no issues with eating it for every meal I will have in Aus in the next week! Kuma also thoroughly enjoyed today’s treat from her advent calendar!

After dinner, Chloe, Neil and Brandon were preparing a bit for tomorrow, and I put ‘Carols by Candlelight’ on the TV. Frank is there tonight and, whilst I did not see him on TV I am sure that he was loving all the festivities. I was very happily bobbing along on the sofa. I was also pleased to be able to do a bit of work on the quiz, ably assisted by Curt and Neil.
And now it is bedtime as Neil, Sarah and I are off to Christmas Parkrun in the morning!
