Day 54 - Rain Stops Play

The weather forecast was frustratingly correct about today - it has rained ALL day, without let up.

After breakfast this morning, I decided that ‘it’s only water’, put on my waterproof coat (which, it turns out, is not entirely waterproof!) and set off down to the lake - the plan being to go to the church I didn’t have time to get to yesterday, to have a look around some of the shops, and to pick up a few more geocaches.

I stopped off in a lovely little souvenir shop, and bought a couple of things, and posed for a soggy picture at the ‘Heart Bled’ sign.

I then continued walking to St Martin’s Church, taking a look around inside.

I then walked back towards the town centre, as I was already soaked to the skin! I stopped off at a coffee shop and had a cup of tea, and then went to the tourist information, as entertainingly there was a geocache hidden there, inside a model of a Bled Cake.

By this point, I absolutely had to return to my accommodation, as I was absolutely drenched and starting to get a bit cold.

A change of clothes and a read of my book sorted me out, and I popped to the restaurant downstairs for a hot chocolate and Bled cake in the afternoon.

Since then, I must confess to having mainly just read my book and watched some tv! It really has been a day for the ducks.

I might brave going outside to visit somewhere new for dinner. Hopefully crossing the border to Italy tomorrow (via Austria, of course, because all roads seem to go through Austria!) will bring a change in the weather.
