Day 37 - A Long Coach Ride to Warsaw
I had a couple of hours to spend in Vilnius this morning. It felt like I still had lots to see in the city, but having prioritised the corgis yesterday I decided to prioritise the view from St John’s Church today (as well as a nearby geocache with lots of favourite points). As we have discovered on this trip, I do like a view from a church tower, and even more so when there is a lift to take you most of the way to the top. The below was not a difficult choice:
The few stairs to the top made me grateful that there was a lift, as I was not convinced of its health and safety credentials. Still, the views were very much worth it.
The tower and the church are actually separate buildings, so it was nice to also have time to pop into the impressive church next door.
After a brief stop for a cup of tea, it was then a trip to the bus station and the prospect of an eight hour long journey to Warsaw. Whilst I do appreciate the fancy features of this coach, such as the seats sliding sideways to give you more space, I have concluded that I prefer trains and will be sticking to them wherever possible. As Dad does like to remind me, this might require me booking a bit further ahead.
I was at least able to listen to the Man Utd - Fulham game on the coach, and generally listen to my audiobook and faff on my phone, but still I am very much looking forward to getting to Warsaw now - hopefully just an hour or so away!
